Happy Days are Sunny Days!

Boy has it been awhile since I've been on here wow. But I must say that I have a valid reason. I'm flat out BUSY! There have been many changes since my last post so bear with me on this one! First of all I will be finishing school A LOT sooner than planned. I just recently switched to full time school going 1:30-10 Tues - Thurs and 9-4:30 Fri-Sat. On top of that I'm still working full time at Pinnacle Security! full time work, full time school...call me CRAZY! It does get to me at times and I have definitely had my breakdowns! Having a wonderful husband comes in handy during times like those to motivate me! He always tells me how proud he is of me and appreciates all the hard work I do and how it will all be worth it next year. Next year? Yes Next year I will be graduating!! not two years like before which I am SO Stoked about!!! Once I'm finished at Paul Mitchell, life will be just simply amazing. I'll be doing something I LOVE while Steven finishes up his schooling in Engineering. Yes he did change his major again, but not so far from what he was originally doing (mathematics). We both are still MADLY in love with each other and love every minute we get to spend together....which is our Sundays, Mon, Fri and Sat nights. We have been married for 10 months now, and boy have these past months flown by!
Lately with the time we have together we love to just chill and set new goals or achievements we want to do both together and personally. My recent goal is getting back into shape. I've had this set since the beginning of the year and I have struggled with it so much in the beginning that I sort of gave up. Since I got a pass at Gold's Gym, I've been so motivated and never regret any visit I make to the gym! I've also become more OBSESSED with fruit and vegetables. I have always loved fruit as my mom can vouch for me too, but man a day without at least 1 piece of fruit nowadays I feel grody. Since I have started eating healthy for about 2 months or more now I have noticed a TREMENDOUS difference in my attitude and lifestyle. I can barely sit through a tv show on the couch ( I would rather go outside or explore fun crafts), I have more energy!(which is hard to believe since I wake up at 5 almost everyday now) People have been complimenting me on how I look like I've lost weight( I dont think I have but it sure feels like it and definitely boosts my self esteem!) I HATE any fast food! ( everytime I try to eat it. I get sick!) SOOO....guess what My first goal of the year is ACHIEVED!!! YAHOO!!! I forgot how good it feels to acheive something I have wanted for so long! Now that I got this first one off the list the second one will only take time, My exercise and weight loss.
Besides these life changing events that have occurred, I have to add in that I am also in a happier mood because its WARM!!! I love watching the sunrise everyday and have my car nice and toasty when I leave work. On top of it being so nice outside, July is going to be an absolutely FABULOUS month! My family comes out on the 1st to bring my little brother Jordan out to school and becuase they miss us ;) and my mom and Addie will stay with us for about a week until we go on pure VACATION! About a week filled with Beach, Disneyland, Family and Lake Powell! Oh how I am so in need of a break I can hardly wait! Bring it on Summer!!

The Last Song
Saturday, April 3, 2010
Tonight I saw the movie The Last Song. I totally did not expect the movie to be what it was. It looked like just another love story - a summer romance themed film. Wow was I thrown off! I was balling during the movie and still thinking about it makes me cry. It is such a touching film to me in SO many different ways and man was I thinking about my family the whole time! Rather than it being about the romance - Veronica/Ronnie's (Miley) dad ends up dying from cancer and the whole reason she went to his home for the summer was so he could enjoy spending one last time with them (since parents are divorced) before he passes. I know it seemed like a cheesy Miley Cyrus movie but I actually loved it and want to buy it when it comes out! Here's some clips of the video as well as my new favorite Miley song - yes I do like some of her music and No I don't think I look like her no matter how many comments I get about it.

Okay....finally I have taken the time to just relax because the house is clean! Well we are all moved in our new place! I love it, yes we did lost an extra room, but we are much happier. Everything is brand new and our landlords are so kind. We went to our new ward this past sunday for the first time and I already got sucked into going to relief society choir AND the ward choir. I guess that's what I get for having my landlord be the 2nd counselor in relief society! haha oh well I helped to get to know some of the women in the ward, and everyone is so nice and very welcoming!
A few weeks ago, Steven and I drove down to Vegas and met up with my Parents little sister, and older brother. It was so much fun! I had never been to Vegas really. Just drove through it. I was amazed at how detailed each hotel was! While we were down there we got to go to my dads cousin's wedding. haha it was fun and the bride looked beautiful. Addie had a blast on the dance floor..grandma said she couldn't get her off when it was time to go! After nights of staying up late(one time being 2 in the morning walkin the strip with my parents!) It was time to go home...back to reality. Little did we know we had a huge storm ahead of us! It was so bad we had to pull over a few times. I was scared to death and so tense the whole time! People were loosing control of their car and spinning out slidding off the side of the road. We almost got hit a few times...oh man what a night! we finally made it home safely, no hits, no slidding, and no car problems! hallelujah!
Work is great...school is even better! I'm almost done with core, which is bitter sweet, I love being in core with Amy as our teacher..I'm gonna miss her! Not so excited to take the tests, but definately excited to start taking some clients! :)

Man oh man have I been slacking. To be honest, I have not so much time to update this thing, but I'm going to do my best :) Here's a little run down of the happenings in the Crosby home.
OH yes and my star cake:)

- I finally started school at Paul Mitchell!! I absolutely love being at school. I've been a lot happier now that I am doing something that I love. So my new schedule goes a little something like this. Mon, Tues, Thursday I work from 7am -3pm and then go to school from 5-10pm; and Fridays I work from 9am-5pm. It's been quite exhausting let me tell you, but I think it's worth it! I've learned so much already in just 4 weeks and I find everyday so interesting and amusing.
- We're Moving! Yes this is totally random. A co-worker of Steven's had mentioned to him they were moving to Florida and need to sell their place. We went and checked it out and decided to move their. Lucky for us, my best friend Whitney was looking to move too, and her and her husband will be taking over our place! As much as I love moving into a new place, I hate it because *I just got comfortable with our ward and our primary class *I have to pack up everything and start all over again. But it will be a good and exciting adventure. Our new landlords are very sweet. They live in a beautiful home behind Target and made a basement for their mother..who didn't want it. So its brand new and very nice and cozy for Steven and I.
- I'm Pregnant! haha Just kidding! You won't have to worry about hearing that kind of news for another 4 years or so. It just felt right to say as almost everyone I know is either pregnant or just had their baby. That just means I get to play with them, while not actually having a baby :)
OH yes and my star cake:)
Ali's New Love

Lately over the past few months, I have discovered a new love of mine...
Cake Decorating!
I have had some opportunities to play around with fondant and design some cakes for my dear friends and their birthdays. Boy have I had so many ideas running through my head I just want to keep making cakes and trying new things with them! Someday maybe I will take a cake decorating class to get some more tips. But as for now, I think it will just be my form of art that I will enjoy as a hobby. So if any of you need a cake....LET ME KNOW!! I would love to assist you with any kind of cake:)
Here are the cakes I have made over the past months.
My first cake was this cake (above) was for a friend of mine at work....I forgot to take a picture of the cake before we dove into it, but at least you can get the idea...It was delicious! It was a white cake filled with real strawberries and white frosting. And of course my first experience with fondant.

My second cake was this cake for my best friend Whitney and our other friend Amy, they had the same birthday! This one I covered with white fondant instead of regular frosting, and also had some fun decorating and experiencing the difficulties of piping the letters. This was a chocolate cake with some white frosting filling - also so good and moist!
As for my third cake...oh its my FAVORITE! My good friend from work Ashley has a daughter that was turning 1 and they call her "Tinks"; they were having a fairy/Tinkerbell party. So I jumped all over this one and had so much fun making it! Of course I didn't make the fairies, but this was definatley a girlie cake. The actual cake was pink (strawberry) with white frosting. I covered it with white fondant but spray painted food coloring for the grass and pond. I used fondant for the flowers as well and sprinkled edible glitter all over. Getting the fairies to stay was a real trick, especially the ones on the sides. But since they all came on stands I took the three of the fairies and super glued sewing pins on the back and stuck em in and Ta DA they stayed!
Well That's all of my cakes for now, next I wanna try to make a different shaped cake, but who knows when that will be. As for now...I'm off to make a New Year's cake for our little shin dig tonight. Until next time..HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
