A smiling girl is a happy girl.

The title explains it all. I am a happy smiling girl at the moment. Since my last post, I have been nothing but busy busy busy. I got 60+ hrs a week at school, insane. I received more letters and phone calls on Sunday. Days like today are my favorite. Church, food, nap and a phone call from my soldier. I cant believe he's already been gone for 4 weeks! Its insane to me. Being busy with school definitely helps time fly. I just cant wait to go home and play with my family in Cali for the summer!
Steven is doing great! He actually is enjoying himself. yes, enjoying it :) He says his Drill Ssgts are very stern but fair, so its not too bad. His unit is split up into 3 different groups, His group is getting along very well already. If I remember right, they beat one of the fastest times in the mile run. go babe! They have learned to work together and listen to the Ssgts, because if they get ahead of themselves, they are usually wrong, and end up doing more push-ups. He told me that since they are doing so well I should expect to hear from every Sunday! As good as that sounds too me, I try not to believe it and get my hopes up and then for some reason they arent allowed to call that Sunday. You just never know with the Army! This past week they did the..dun dun dun... Gas Chamber! He said he felt as if he were going to die! The only thing he could say about it was that and "It just SUCKED" but its over with! They are almost out of Red Phase, which is one of the hardest phases he said. The next phase he gets to play with guns...oh boy, now I know why hes excited to be done with red phase! Steven also said that basic training isn't really all that hard, you just do what they tell you, the only hard part for him is being away from me. awwww :) hearing that today definitely made me teary eyed! He only has 5 1/2 weeks left of basic training, and then its on to the easier stuff; his specialty training. And during that time, he might even get his phone every night! He will be getting more privileges as the time goes on. And before we know it I will be going out there for his graduation! I cannot wait for that day to come!! I'm so excited :) Oh, he also had to mention that he already has a six pack and that its only been 4 weeks, so come time for graduation he will have a 20 pack. haha yep stevens still got his humor! It was great to talk to him today and laugh and cry and express our love for each other:)

I only have about 2 weeks left of school! Time really is flying. I am so excited because not this coming weekend, but memorial day weekend my family is coming!! It cant come soon enough! I have so much to do and so little time. Better get started now! Hope everyone has a fabulous week! And once school is over with, I will try to update this thing more often when I get letters from him :)

What an uplifting day.

Oh how I love my Sundays. I forgot that today was Regional Stake Conference..:/ oh well. I slept in, which was VERY much needed. although I still woke up at 6:40 and went back to bed until 9. I guess I cant sleep in like I used to when Steven was around. weird. The dishes are done, another box is packed, most of the pictures are off the walls, and my house smells clean :) I finished my book Sarah's Key today! It was soo good! I don't know why, but the Holocaust is something that has always interested me, maybe that's why I loved the book so much? Now to find another good book...suggestions??
Once the house was to my liking, I sat down and read some general conference talks from this last session. Why I never took much time to actually read the talks after wards I do not know, because I feel like I get more out of them when I do!
As I was printing out a few talks, my phone rings, Its my hubby! I got to talk to him for 15 minutes! It was so nice :) He's doing great! When they went to Basic Training on Tuesday he said they all went into a bit of a shock. The drill sergeants at basic are a whole lot worse than in processing. He said they yelled the whole morning when they first got there while cursing every other word. I could only imagine the look on Stevens face. haha The showers are fast paced and cold! They have just a few seconds to take a group shower and get out fast. He said there are guys running all over the place in there with their towels, Sounds interesting...He said hes gotten faster at eating..I don't know how that's possible. I'm curious to see what Steven is going to be like when he gets home and we have dinner together, Hes going to finish while I'm taking my first bite! They started their physical training and he says hes one of the fastest guys in his group! So proud of him :) There are about 150 guys in his...unit i think he said, and they split them into 3 groups...If I remember correctly. He said he wrote me a letter with his address. So when I get it and any of you readers would like to write him, let me know and I'll pass it on! The only sad news I got from him today was that he wont be done until August 25th, instead of on the 18th. an extra week:/...only because he was in processing for longer than usual.
Despite all the hardship of not having my husband by myside as I finish out my LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL, I love him so incredibly much. After our phone call, I sat there and just thought to myself how lucky I am. Lucky to be his wife. Lucky to have someone love me as much as he does. Lucky to have him gone for only 4 months vs 1 yr. Lucky to have the good example that he is to me. Steven has joined the army, to better not only his future, but OUR future. Our future family. He loves me that much, to go through all the pain and hard work, to ensure we have a good future together. That just amazes me. I love my husband, my religion, and my life. I couldn't ask for any better man. I love you Steven Crosby, and am waiting here for you, strong and proud! :)
